Laptop pointer problem

Hi all I've just bought 2 new Asus laptops for work. The problem with both of them is that the pointer/mouse pad doesn't really do what i want. For example if I'm just trying to scroll down the arrow never stays in place, and generally jumps around all the time.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Jumps around?

    Try something like this

    Go to: Start>Control Panel>Mouse>Pointer Options
    Click: Pointer Options Tab
Un-Check: "Hide Pointer While Typing" check box.
    Click: "Apply"
    Click: "OK"
