I was just in the shop there and the northern irish guy called me "smallman". haha I wouldnt have thought I was that small. Is that some sort of term if endearment Fairly patronising if it is.

    How tall was he?

5'9 is actually the average height for a male so in no way are you small.

If it's any consolation, I'm an inch taller than you and I was at a concert in Glasgow a couple of years ago. I moved out of the way to allow some guy get past me and he said over his shoulder 'thanks wee man.'

    Some people are just dicks.

I've found that it's an Irish thing. Demeaning compliments I call it. Very frequent in the GAA world e.g "Jaysus he's a right little hurler".

I believe this to be sarcasm from norn Iron ... as opposed to saying "Thanks Big man"

I'm a big fecker, and people I dont know have a habit of calling me Horse.

I dont really look like a horse, I'm just a big fecker.

I remember the night I met you in a nightclub toilet and as we were both at the urinals, you kept winking at me, I turned away and when I looked back at you, you were still winking at me. I said, what the fcuk is wrong with you, why are you winking at me, are you gay or something. You said "no, you're splashing my eyes, you bastard". Short arse :D

Or it could have been "I LIKE CAKE!" which is close enough to "smallman" as well.
