Is Argos's 65% off mattresses a bargain? The mattress iam looking at was €699.99, now €279.99. Are mattresses RRP price artificially inflated or not?

Any mattress expert in here? My old mattress had serve me well but it's lacking the bounce ( if you know what i mean ). Budget would be around €300. Thanks in advance

After reading this thread, the word mattress has lost all visual meaning!

I find a lot of mattresses are heavily inflated prices before the sale price in Argos. Where else have you looked?

I bought one in ezliving for about 400 euros, again supposedly reduced from about 800. Lovely mattress. It was a Respa something or other memory foam topped.

It seems to me mattresses always appear to be on sale, 300-400 should get you a very good one. Problem with argos is you cannot have a quick test before you buy so i would steer clear of them for a mattress. Price sounds good though.

My RESPA Back Care arrived yesterday... and stinks something rottenly toxic.
Have a newborn baby in the house and was afraid for my life for the whole night...the smell stank out the whole house...
Thought the fumes could do serious damage to her.... It's still stinking but have it in a room with the door shut now...
Is that normal do you know?

Yes it's normal, can take up to 2 weeks to finally disappear.

tim ryan galbally road tipperarey, as a very happy customer i recomend him, he seems to beat anyone, last time i got a fantastic double mattress, for 250, he dropped it to 220, as i was paying him i asked would he take 205, i was told yes, so he haggles as well.
