has anyone come across any issues with the thermal cut outs on immersion stats recently?
the one in my own house is cutting quite regularly and the temp is only at 50,i now have 2 neighbours with the same problems!

im thinking the stats may be badly calibrated that when you have it at 50 its actually a lot higher??any one any thoughts?

    cheers lads

these stats generally trip out when the oil or gas heating systems in the house are operational

if your heating systems overheat the water tank then your immersion overheat operates(even when not switched on)
they are mechanically operated not electrically

only way to stop this is to fit a mini valve to heating system operated by a cylinder stat

I come across this problem regularly , it is a nuisance, as said above a motorized valve fitted on the cylinder coil controlled by a cylinder stat usually set to about 50/60

on a couple of occasions ive come across the high limit on the stat cutting out on the 18'' stats cuase the ppl were using the sink element only. only the top1/3 of the tank was heating and the stat wasnt cutting out because the majority of it was still in cooler water.
could this be the case in this situation ?
