    Ok, I've deleted this post, as it was more of a rant than a question - someone is looking into the problem & they think they can probably fix it - so will wait till then to moan should it not work!!!

    Could you try using an alternative program for iTunes?

    I wouldn't accept a damaged iPod either. Demand a new one.

    I did, I had to take photos & send back, and they told me it wasn't common practice to take it back, but this time they would.. Too right, I had sent it originally back to them and it was still in the plastic it came in!

    Thanks for the advice - friend is looking into it & I just need a bit more patience with it getting fixed.
