The Paulaner Oktoberfest Beag will be held at the former Beamish & Crawford Brewery in Cork from September 13-22.

Anybody ever head to this before? Was thinking about heading along this year and would be interested to hear what people who went before think of it.

It's worth a trip in alright. Had a good night there last time it was on.

Went to the Paulaner Oktoberfest tour event in Valladolid earlier on in the summer. Quite expensive but I ended up having several litres of Salvator before heading out and felt the effects the next morning. Fun it was but nothing I hadn´t seen before and certainly not as good as even the most touristy beer halls in Bavaria. The Paulaner tent at Gäubodenvolksfest was also a lot better but what can you expect.

From the looks of it you need to book in advance (with most places already gone) and its a tenner admission per head and beer a tenner a mass (1L) with a fiver deposit on the glass.

I've been subscribed to their facebook site for the past while and you do get the impression that it is being well ran and setup to be as authentic as is possible outside of bavaria.

Unfortunately I'll not make it and I'l have to console myself with 2 weeks of the original munich octoberfest (less the crazy middle weekend when I'll be in croker for the football final!)
