Do library fines have to be fully paid in order to graduate?

    I'm supposed to graduate on Friday. I've built up a bit of a fine on my library card. Could I get away without paying it? Anyone with any knowledge on the issue?

    Whilst i dont know if it will cause your graduation to be called into question...i do know you need to pay them regardless. That kind of stuff comes back to bite you on the keester and it's always good to live up to one's debts

    I can think of it at least 3 people who graduated from maynooth in the last 2 years and they owed the max ( I think its 60 euro) and lost a few books throughout their courses and they all graduated without any trouble at all.

    If you have a look at the conferring info on the page it says:
    Library Books and Fines
    You are requested to ensure that all books are returned to the Library and that all outstanding fines are paid.

    One of my friend's boyfriends had a book from the library and kept getting letters requesting it back and informing him of his increasing fine. The last letter he received congratulated him on graduating and told him to keep the book :pac:

    Can't wait to pick out the most expensive book they have for the last few days of 4th year :D:D:D
