Start by the marinea, past the pairc, out the old rail way ( which is now tar all the way) link up with it again after a short break and go as far as you want, as far as passage anyway.
Loop back along the shore, over the tunnel, past the castle and run the straight back past the paric again to where ever you started from.

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/217931407 grass around the farm (park outside the gate, always a few people running around it)
    or the marina loop
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/217417732 (carpark at the start/finish) - This is probably more what you are looking for and is the route from post 2. You could also park close to blackrock castle for this loop, might be better for you.

+100 on the Marina loop, it's all closed walkway except for a little stretch over the hill around Blackrock castle but there is a footpath and a wide one along the Marina until you are back on what was the old railway track. It's also part of the Cork marathon route.

I'd vote for the Marina as well, it's a nice spot especially with the sunny weather.

Thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated. Looks like its unanimous! Had hoped not to revisit any of my steps from the marathon, but I guess I'll enjoy it a lot more this time once I know I don't have another 12 miles to go! Thanks tyo all, especially for the garmin links.

Another is to start at the (or in town) lee fields and follow up the river. You can run through the fields as far as the fisherman's rest. Back on the road cross the river and run back into the city coming in by Sundays well. Cross the river using the shaky bridge by ucc sports grounds, into the peoples park and all the way by the river into town emerging by the distillery before turning back on yourself. Back through the park and through Victoria cross to the lee fields again.
This route sailor give you hills,, cross country, busy streets, rivers, park and trail..... It's a cork thing like.....
