Anyone used one of these? I'm trying to research some info and I can only find stuff from Lenovo, no third party reviews/videos.

    Available from their website: €500

    11" Screen
    Core i3-2367M ULV
    4gb RAM - DDR3
    320gb 7200RPM
Webcam, nice battery life, extremely rugged for travelling

It seems perfect minus the lack of reviews

No reviews yet as it is brand new.

It's certainly better than the netbooks you've been looking at in your other thread. The ULV processor only scores about 2/3 of a regular Core i3 mobile CPU but makes for great battery life, although in real world scenarios you should expect less than the 8.5 hrs Lenovo claims.

Mind you, the X131e is still light years ahead of those AMD clunkers you had in mind. ;)

720p HD webcam and robust build quality should fit you bill too.

Yeah.. My mind turned to mush last night looking at laptops until about 3 o clock. Finally came out with this ahead of about 30 others.

People were having trouble with Linux on the ideapad, which forced me to look into alternatives. I only really need ~5 hours without wifi &low brightness so the battery is grand.

Are you familiar with the Thinkpads? Do you know what the big differences are between this and the X130e? There's plenty of videos and stuff available for that one and if they're nearly identical I'll just bite the bullet and be the first to review it ;)

My personal Lenovo experience is limited to a Thinkpad T. It's build like a bloody tank, so Lenovo know a thing or two about making robust laptops. ;)

As for Linux, I had Zenwalk installed on it, no problemo.
