Have 1 suck calf and he is a disaster. Weaned with the rest but to be honest was doing ok and recently has lost trive and went abit back. He was BVD tested and bought off a farmer directly and other 3 off the farm are fine.

Any suggestions? i have him on meal (1kg/1.25kg a day) access to a molas lick and grass

If there anything more i could get him?

Also he has an auld rash on his back. I did them all with a lice pour on 3 weeks ago.

Here's a few ideas off the top of my head...

He's weaned and eating meal so I presume he's out, is he eating grass with the rest? how's his dung?

Is it convenient to check his temperature, I'd be thinking of checking it a few times over two days and se if it's stable or peaking high, he may be fighting some underlying infection or respratory issue.

What exactly had he on his back, again look closer. Maybe comb through his hair and see if he has any nasties still eeking away at him.

Recently if were treating a calf we include a multivit shot at first treatment to ensure their system is balanced and absorbing all their feed properly.

You could consider bringing him in on his own to monitor.
Water in a bucket or other non self fill so you know what he's drinking.
Meal on his own so you know he's taking the 1kg, if he's at a trough with others he may be nosing round but actualy eathing damn all..

he was in a group of 6 until yesterday but i put them and the bigger ones together for TB test and he is so much smaller and just not looking good.

I told the vet what he had and is having and said just a bit of TLC .

He may have had croctioos (what ever that thing is) and was threated for it anyway back in May.

Is there a vitamin lick or supplement i can give him and maybe 2 others?

All my other calves are flying

    transient BVD infection maybe..
thats what the vet told me one of mine had that went back very quickly and looked like he was going to die but came around
sure it could have been anything I suppose

    Yep..
We have one at the moment, "calf and weanling" I think its called, suitable from birth. There is also a tonic type one you get to add to the milk that I've used in the past but found it expensive.

I did notice another one called "vitalick" in the store the last time I was in but didn't have time to check it out.. specifically formulated for calves and its 19% protein, 25kg in a yellow bucket.

Try giving him a shot of vitiminm B, we use Barium selanate and it gives them a good boost

vet told me one time injections of vitamin E , selenium and copper.

tried this a few times on dull calves and always worked.
