Good oaten straw is supposed to be the best feeding fed it for the last two years.
I always thought barley would be best.

wheaten straw is the best , it has to be good quality . Put 3 bales in front of the suckers barley , oaten and wheaten and they devour the wheaten in a day, they left the rest there and never touched them .

were paying e12 for rounds and 1.50 for small squares. small squares are a lot of work but seriously handy for calving pens and the likes.

10-12 seems to be about the go of it. The trick is to have a "bad" baler and a low hp tractor driving it.;)

How much can I expect to pay to have ~40 round bales of barley straw delivered to West Clare?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 319 ✭✭cormywormy

Round bales of barley are making 14 (4x4 bales) , small square wheaten 1.80-2 euro, barley 2 euro and 2.50 for small oaten.
