Hi , starting in DIT this year and applied fir the SUSI grant but not to sure if i will get it for the fees but recently find out if you live 45 km or further away (i live 52km) you get a small supplement for that , just wondering if i am not eligiable for the overall grant but clearly am for the travelling part will i even get that or is it just a complete no , if anyone could get back that would be great as im confused and cant contact SUSI at all as they are so busy !

Are you on BTEA and looking for a fee only grant?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If you're only eligible for fees be it on income or BTEA there is no concession for students who live over 45k from the college. The distance is measured only if you are eligible for some portion of the grant - then they give you adjacent or non adjacent rate.
