RTE 2 HD Encrypted?

As above. Have a Humax Foxsat box with freesat on it.
If I record a match can it be played on other devices via USB? Or is it encrypted like freesat HD channels

So you have Saorsat then, or how are you getting RTE2 on the Humax box?

I believe he may be watching the channels on 9°E using a Humax Foxsat HDR. I have no idea if the channels are fully FTA or have soft encryption to protect copying/duplication etc. Perhaps someone more in the know will see the thread and let you know.

All channels on both Saorview and Saorsat are broadcast free-to-air.

Recording HD material in non-freesat mode will allow you to circumvent the inbuilt copy protection in the Humax Foxsat HDR.

Yes I have saorsat. Limited as regards epg etc.
Just followed Wattys advice that humax might offer the best option in the future

Do you switch from Freesat mode to non-Freesat mode to view the Saorsat channels?

Or have you installed Raydon's media bundle to integrate non-Freesat channels into the Freesat EPG?

Have Raydons bundle installed but have not got around to it yet. I watch saorsat in non freesat mode

Does that Humax receiver have Diseqc capability? and will it record from Saorsat?

I'm thinking of getting something like it for Saorsat myself and would rather something from the FREESAT lineup due to its excellent epg etc. rather than a standard FTA receiver which will mean regular re-tuning on the British channels, wheras Saorsat will be constant and unchanging unlike the British FTA channels.

I'd like to see some screenshots of saorsat on your Freesat box?
