Sorry to hear your bad luck Lumen... have you taken it back to the shop?

I have a Bryton 35 which started giving dodgy heart rate readings after 5 months so I took it back to the bike shop who sent it back to Bryton who then sent me (via the bike shop) a new one. I've not had any problems with this one so far (6 months in, X fingers, touch wood etc :p ).

Mind you, I'm not using it to it's full potential as I only use it for tracking each ride and then uploading to Strava.

OP, I'd suggest Googling for Bryton issues and seeing what other people have to say.

    I have a Garmin 500. I was quoting colm_gti.

I had a bryton rider 35 with HR and cadence for about 4 months, could never get both sensors to work simultaneously, it was either one or the other, but I lived with it. After being rained on at the tour de kilkenny and SERC GP on consecutive days, the device stopped being recognised by both my laptops and my desktop computers, could no longer extract the ride data for strava, or charge the device as a result. I brought it into the shop that I bought it in and they said every device was returned with issues, got a refund and went straight to a garmin stockist to buy an edge 500, which is much more intuitive to setup and use.

There's a reason garmin are the market leaders in low/mid range cycling gps devices...
