    I was doing a bit of clearing and I found these brand new in a box. They were a gift from a former boss years ago and I cannot seem to find a lot of information about them online apart from a brief line on the KEF archives page.

    Bottom line is I wanted to put them up on adverts.ie but I have no idea what sort of money they are worth. I was playing with the idea of installing them but feel they may be better suited to someone would would appreciate their apparent pedigree (if the web is to be believed).

    Mod Comment:

    TomTom,

    Sorry about this but we don't encourage "how much is zzzzz worth" on the basis that the only real way to find out is to put it up for sale (opinions given here are just that - not the same as what someone is actually willing to pay) and also on the basis that it can be used to place ads by stealth - I appreciate that is not your intention here.

    If you've already searched adverts and the other usual selling sites, you could try a look on the classifieds section of avforums - you might get some inidication there as they have a wider audience for this kind of kit.

    @All

    Overall I'd prefer to close this thread but I'll leave it open if people want to get opinions about the heritage quality etc of the speakers in question.

    Discussion of price is not allowed, infractions and thread closure will follow.

    Thanks,

    Ritz.

    I completly understand, thanks for the response and explination.

    It's something that never struck me before, when I discovered they were nearly 20 years old I figured they were worthless but there appears to be a big culture out there for vintage audio equipment. I supposed when its not an area your involved in you never hear much about it.

    Nice speakers, I probably would have been interested in these if you are selling, unfortunately they are 4ohm, and most modern amps are 6ohm and above, so using lower impedance speakers than recommended could damage the amp, might be worth knowing this if you do sell or use them yourself Tom Tom.

    I really have no clue when it comes to proper audio setup, thats why i'm selling them. I just need speakers for listening to the radio in the kitchen so I believe these would be overkill.
