My question is as above, i have two LGs, they were bought in uk (Freeview HD compatible tvs). Will they be able to receive Saorview down south indefinitely?

    Only Saorview approved Gaurentees reception.
But they should work, but be aware of possible EPG quirks

    This is what Saorview say
A Freeview HD box or TV will more than likely work for SAORVIEW*, but a Freeview box or TV more than likely will not work. Any set top box or TV set branded as SAORVIEW approved will be fully compatible with the SAORVIEW service.

*Freeview HD products may display SAORVIEW channels in a different order in the channel listings and EPG. Clock functions may be incorrect. Text, subtitles and Audio Description functions may not work.

Channels in the 800s, clock stuck on GMT all year round, perhaps you did not notice.

    Well, yes.

However, if you disable the LCN the channels come in OK as you would expect. I had the problem with the EPG time but it appears to have changed and I can now set the time manually to be GMT+1 which has the EPG time correct now. Some time ago I connected it to the internet and it downloaded a software upgrade all on its own. Weird, because LG told me to get lost they could not help me when I asked them about it some time ago.

From this year's models almost all the major manufacturers are selling the same sets in Ireland as in the UK, so they will be both Freeview and Saorview approved.

2011 models from some manufacturers were approved for both (eg Samsung), others were not.
