Hi, I have an interview for FETAC level 5 in childcare next week, I applied a few weeks back and was told it was full but got a call back this morning to say if I was interested in having an interview next week to let them know as there is one or two places left for course.

It was very unexpected but I will be going for interview so my question is really does anyone have any information on interview or any tips, advice for the day. I dont really know what to expect tbh!

    Thanks.

Be tidily dressed, modest amount of makeup and reasonable nails! Be on time.

Make sure you have any documentation they have asked for, especially LC results.

Read up on the website/brochure about the course, know what subjects will be covered.

Think about why you want to study childcare, what experience you might have and what kind of work you want to do.

    Good luck!

Edit: I am jumping to conclusions that you are female, apologies if you are not :)

Thanks alot for the advise looksee. I have to call the college back tomorow to let them know I am interested in interview so haven't even been told about what to bring. I did my leaving cert 10 years ago now and not sure if I still have cert for it but would that be a problem?

If you are a mature student (over 23) it is not relevant

I would agree with what looksee said, if u dress neat, have all documents and have experience working in childcare you should get the position.
