Hey Guys, just wondering if I need a bank account to register at NUIM???

I'm (or I'm going to be...) a first year student taking Arts.
Im not qualifying for any grant and have already paid my fees for this semester online,so I cant see why I'd need a bank account.

    Thanks in advance.

I brought my fees in in a handful of 20 euro notes that I won on the horses. No questions asked. :p

You don't NEED one to register but at this stage of your life it might be time you got one. When you get to college next week all the banks will be there offering you free stuff if you open an account with them. My advice would be to open one with each bank then to get as much free stuff as possible and you can decide after which one you want to use long-term!

You don't need a bank account but it'd be a good idea to have one. When I first went to Maynooth, Bank of Ireland pretty much gave me a bank card in the street. I still have the account. My card doesn't have my name on it 'cause it was a pre-opened account so my account number is on it as opposed to a name. Less hassle than filling out forms and stuff, though I probably did have to sign something.

Just say no if they offer you a credit card, no matter how many times you say you wont use it you're wrong.
