Hi Im just going into second year science and I registered my subjects yesterday on the nuig website. Only problem is I can only see my subjects from last year on my blackboard !?

How do I get this years subjects / course to appear on my blackboard ? I was told something about building the curriculum on blackboard but cant find how to do that.

    Thanks for help !

Give the lecturers a while to get things together after they get the (close to) final class-lists then Blackboard should be sorted out by them.

I had the same problem last year. It takes a couple of weeks for lecturers to pull your modules offline and for the new lecturers to put the new ones online.

It takes a few days for the Blackboard system to update with all your modules. I registered on Sunday and my options only appeared today. If you're still having trouble, email your lecturer with your student ID and they'll be able to enrol you manually.

Last year's modules stay up for a while but they'll eventually go.

Blackboard takes a snapshot of the student registration database to allocate modules. It runs at some point every morning as far as I remember (4am or thereabouts).

Your subjects from last year stay on there until the end of September, then they're automatically removed.

Actually, a new policy means students will continue to have access to last year's Blackboard courses through the academic year.

In the past, some students made the request to have continued access to the previous year's courses on Blackboard, for very good academic reasons. But, because of storage limitations, the courses had to be removed. Now that the university's Blackboard system has moved to a hosted solution, there is no longer a storage problem.

The decision was made to change the policy and allow continued access. The situation is being monitored, and will be reviewed again at Christmas.

That's actually very handy. Nice to have last year's lecture notes available for those who forgot to save copies offline. Kudos for making the change :)

Pity I didn't know about this before I went on a downloading spree. :P
