I want detailed explanations to start with the easier the the fire is to start using basic or no tools the better, according to survival literature we should have at least 5 different ways to light a fire.

While we can start with the basic methods we can move onto more advanced methods of maintaining efficient fires which will require some building.

I think we should try these out as we can give these tutorials a once over thinking we know how to make fire but if you don't actually make the fire it won't lodge in your head and we'll also find out if the method actually works.

I'll start the ball rolling with the coke can method. It may not be all that suitable to Ireland's overcast climate but I thought it was a good one for people on their first night out in a zombie infested world. All you need is a aluminium can (beer or soda) some chocolate or toothpaste and the sun.

That would be an ideal piece of kit, the only problem being if you haven't bought one before the **** hits the fan or you've left it at home while visiting relations your not going to be able to rely on it for fire starting.
