Computer not resetting after each journey on Jetta

My computer use to reset after each journey. It has stopped this recently and it is showing cumulative values although they seem inaccurate, far too high.

I love trying to get the consumption under 5l on the way home from work. Now what am I going to do?

Does anyone know why this happened or more importantly how can I get it to reset after each journey?

    Nice one

Don't you hold the button in to reset?

    Found this elsewhere:

You can toggle btween the two memories by pressing the round button on the underneath of the wiper control stalk. The rocker switch controls what data is currently displayed (journey time, av fuel consumption, instant fuel consumption, average speed, distance).

Will have a look for this next time

    It's 07

That resets km since last reset up to 9999 I think. There are also stats for each journey. I.e there is overall average speed and journey average speed, same for consumption and duration

Each journey is recorded from start up until engine is turned off and left off for roughly 2 hours

Fair enough, on my older Golf holding the button in would reset whichever figure the MFA was showing.

Maybe you cycled round to the cumulative part of the trip computer? I know on my Golf it has three figures for each metric. The journey values, the average values since last reset, and instantaneous.

On my alfa too, trip a is cumulative, trip b resets every start.
And the trip on the odometer is seperate too.

Sorted, there is a button on the underside of the wiper handle that I must have pressed accidently
