What do ye think? Melself and a few friends are taking up this endurance soon. :)

    Day 1 Cork - Mayo

    Day 2 Mayo - Antrim

    Day 3 Antrim - Wiclow

    Day 4 Wicklow - Cork

    We're bringing a tent :pac:

The whole point is to get a pic of every "Welcome to county ..... sign"

but I feel that the 6 in the north may cause problems there.

Anyone know of any in the Northern counties?

The route on the second map doesn't take in every county.

It can comfortably be covered in 4 days.

Both maps are the same, I double checked.

You might have a problem with the Co Derry / Co Londonderry sign in the North as they are usually spray painted by one side or the other...

The route on the second map doesn't pass through any part of Co Galway.
It passes to the east of Lough Derg which is in Tipp.

In the first map it passes west of the lake along the Scariff - Portumna road taking in Counties Clare and Galway.

Yeah there was a bit of hassle regarding signs up there recently.

As the North is divided into districts, it may be harder to find county signs.

But as five of the six counties share their name with districts anyway these should do for photos.

Tyrone is the exception but there is a district called Dungannon & South Tyrone.

they still have some signs up,
heres a "County Tyrone" one up in the hills on the border of Fermanagh and Tyrone

Its strange they have a sign for a region that technically doesnt exist currently except on the GAA pitch.
(although that said, theres welcome to Breffni signs stretching across Sligo, Leitrim and Cavan and that hasnt existed for the past 600 odd years! )

Cool idea. Why don't you ask someone from each county who knows where the 'Welcome to ......" sign is to have a look on Google Maps and give you the GPS Co-Ordinates. Make your life a lot easier than looking for them all. Covering it in quicker time too, leaving more time to eat and visit landmarks etc.

    i.e: 53.410239, -6.433869

    'Welcome to Meath'

Signs on motorways are not useful surely - they are hardly going to stop on the motorway!?

Yes motorways are out of the question.

Is there any welcome to Co. Dublin signs??

Im not sure if that part of the road is now the M3 or its still just a dual carriageway. Anyway, as you say its a bit dodgy. It was the only 'Welcome to......' sign I could think of off hand so I was just using it as an example.

People in each county should be able to provide safer options that suit the planned route. Just a suggestion.

Don't forget, two councils in Tipp!

Both of them have different welcome to signs
