Upgraded to UPC HD, but...

... if I want to watch HD channels over HDMI then can no longer record to DVR as have lost ability to "pass through" my DVR via SCART In/Out as I did with the old box . My DVR (Samsung SH897M) only has one HDMI Out connection and the UPC Cisco box doesn't seem to support simultaneous use of HDMI & SCART connections.

Has anyone managed to overcome this in any way for HD channels and without having to swap cables every time for SD channels? Is there such a thing as a HDMI splitter or switch box?

you can get 2 way hdmi splitters to send the signal to both your dvr and tv at the same time.

Thanks Steve. Unfortunately your link's dead but I've searched for similar on eBay and get the idea. Unfortunately again, the DVR has an HDMI-Out port only so not sure a splitter will help now. Maybe a splitter plus some kind of converter to composite or SCART might do the trick?

Do the HD boxes have a scart as well. I occasionally record from the upc box to a dvd recorder and wouldn't like to lose this function, if I changed over to HD

My HD box (black) does, yes.

Yes they do have SCART however you can only view SD channels via SCART connection and you can't have simultaneous HDMI & SCART connections.
