Hi Will have just bought a house, the windows need replacing, in addition we will be building a 40sqm extension with a lot of windows, glass

We would like to put in an Energy efficient windows/glass, have not done this before, not sure what the latest or best technology is ?

To keep costs down, we may go for white PVC rather than timber /aluclad.

Without spending lots, what the best way to get very energy efficient windows

Not sure whether triple glazing worth the extra expense
Does the size of gap between the two dg panes make a difference . ie bigger gap more Argon gas ?

i have double glaze upvc with vista therm glass u value 1.1 on the house, i have a lot of glass on the sunroom and it is south facing and it is really warm, the only change i would make if i could go back again is i would have gone for a better door on the back as the upvc door is not great
