Wedding videos in Ukraine

Does anyone know if there are wedding video businesses in Ukraine? I'm sure there are photographers, but about videos I can't find out.

Theres probably camera men there but they may not be set up as a company. More like a sole trader/self employed.

I’m sure it would be similar to Belarus. I’ve been to plenty of weddings there where there have been videos. I assume a lot of people wouldn’t be advertising online, though depending on where. I mean it would be more likely in the bigger cities. Also are you searching in Ukrainian/Russian?

Hi neris and cailinoBAC,

My son and daughter-in-law are having their wedding celebration on Saturday, but it seems no-one will be making a video. I know it's too late now, but he told me people never get events videoed, just photographed. I tried to search but it was hopeless because I am only beginning to learn Russian. So I just wondered if it was something that was ever done, for the next time something is happening.

Well it depends, I mean I’m not having a video because I’m not interested in one and I know a lot of people like that. Do they want one? Where in Ukraine is it?

It's in Kiev. None of the family is able to be there, I thought it would be a nice memoir. He hasn't expressed feelings either way.

Well if I google 'видеооператор свадьба киев' there are quite a few responses. It really depends on them I suppose, if they want one they should be able to find somebody, even if it is a little late, or just ask somebody else to take a video of the day.

Try and make contact with the wedding coordinator at a Kiev hotel, they might be helpfully enough to recommend someone. You should probably tell them you have nowhere booked and are only at the early stages of planning;).

cailinoBAC and Senna, thank you both. I think it is clear I have left it too late. I have no idea how much it would cost and I copied and pasted the Russian into Google and cannot understand the words.

Well here are a few English sites! I would say if it is something you will regret you should just contact these people and try and sort it out! Or the hotel, as Senna suggested. There is still time!

I have been at a wedding in Kiev this year, and the wedding industry is very similar to ours. There was a wedding planner, candid photographer, videographer etc etc. Look at Kupidonstudio - they are a photography business in Ukraine, and perhaps could recommend a videographer.

I want to thank kitty78 and all of you very much for the responses and links. I must now confess that the celebration was today, and I know I really left it too late. I sent a query on one of your links, cailinoBAC, but no-one responded and I threw my hat at it. I will try to be more decisive the next time.
