Question on Evans frame bike

Hey guys, a friend has a bike in his shed which he believes is worth a few quid. I quite fancy it but i dont know how much its worth (nor does he for that matter). I only got a quick glance at the spec.

    Evans frame
    Ritchey logic brakes
    campag mirage rear deraileur

It looks like its about 20 years old and has had a fair bit of going but pretty sound. My plan would be strip, paint and reassemble so that I can have a nice steel framed bike for small money.

My question is, how much is the bike actually worth, I havent broached the subject with my friend but i do not want to insult him with a "stupid offer" or over pay for the bike?

post a picture but the most important thing is to look at the frame and see if there are any stickers telling you anything about it. If you are lucky you might see something like Columbus SL or a Reynolds tubing sticker. if the frame is a good steel frame then the associated components will usually be fairly good...

put up a picture and people on here will tell you all about it in a few minutes..
