Can't anyone help with this, electric decoys are they legal or illegal.
And wing flappers are they legal or illegal. Got stopped on Saturday by the rangers and they asked to see my decoys, they told me that electric decoys where illegal . I do have some electric decoy flappers which I got in the states but haven't used yet. Not sure if they are legal or not and to be honest the ranger that stopped me didn't seem sure him self . And I know electric calls are banned just wasn't sure about these flappers . Thanks

No help with the flappers but I suspect not, electric decoys and calls are not allowed.

I was told all the mojo electric decoys are illegal to use here too..

I only could find the bit saying it is illegal to use electric callers too.

    Nothing else on it.

Put my hand up and say I had never heard about electric decoys being illegal. I've never used them for duck either though.

Must have a read of the legislation and see what I can find.

What nonsense! Electric decoys are illegal? Irregardless of a flapper or decoy it's nonsense. Same goes for a caller.
A decoy is a decoy. If it fools ducks more maybe it might stop lads firing at ducks further away & wounding them! It makes no sense to me. Same type that cleans somewhere out due to perceived unfair advantage an electric decoy gives will fire at 60, 70 yards upwards at every duck, seagull & crow to pass by IMO!

Must try one of these & see do I get arrested (or electricuted!!)

Panadol, Tylenol, Hedex, Neurofen, Feminax and a padded desk to bang your head off.
That should get you through the first few Acts.
You're on your own for the EU directives and SIs :D

But to get you started, it's section 35 of the wildlife act, as amended in the 2000 Act:
    (1) ... a person shall not
    ...
    (d) use an electrical or other instrument or appliance (including recording apparatus) emitting sound, for the purpose of hunting any wild bird or any wild animal.
    ...
    (2) Subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to the use of a whistle or similar instrument or appliance imitating, or emitting calls similar to, the calls of plover, wild duck or wild geese, which is operated (whether wholly or partly) manually or orally, for the purpose of hunting any of those wild birds.
In other words, unless you have a section 42, you can't hunt with an electronic caller but you can use a non-electronic caller like a whistle. But I don't see anything there about electronic decoys (decoys are mentioned, but there's nothing about specific types of decoys).

Electric calls and Decoys are illegal and proper order too. Hunting is one particular sport imo where technology should be kept to a minimum.

We can see in the legislation where it mentions callers but do you know where it mentions electronic decoys?

Have you a source (the act its posted in) to your info or is it off the top of your head?
