Following radiation I'm having lots of problems and have been recommended to have HBOT. On researching it it sounds brilliant but very expensive. Anyone got any experience of it or know anyone who had it.

The centre in Bandon is €20 a go - it is run by volunteers and this is a contribution towards the running costs. I work in radiation therapy and am aware of people who have been treated there with good results.

No experience in this use but have experience in the area

There are some risks related to the pressure, can be difficult to tolerate if claustrophobic

For medical prescription Galway was the only place I could refer to, I understand the Eye and Ear send people to London, whatever exists here must not be to their standard

IIRC, Galway shut down for a while, not sure if it has reopened. There's a centre in Dublin, but they don't have a medical director, so they can't accept referrals (EU rules).

There is a place just off henry st/liffey st in Dublin. Not sure how much it costs but would be very interested in trying it out.

I don't know very much about it but I think the number of sessions depends on why you are getting it in the first place

    100 Euro a pop regardless of whether it's a 60 or 90 minute session... 50 for students and OAP's

I'd be interested to know how many treatments make an effective dose? I see on youtube, NFL stars spend 2 hours a day in these things "oxygen tents" just for faster healing.

Very interesting though all the health benefits that are suggested from it...just like a major immune system boost....Looks like 'Whako Jacko' sleeping in his oxygen tent wasn't so crazy after all :)

Proponents of HBOT claim that it cures or improves pretty much every health condition known to man.

When someone makes such extraordinary claims you would expect extraordinary evidence. Unfortunately evidence is lacking except for a few specific uses. Consult your doctor before spending your money.

Whats the difference between evidence and extraordinary evidence???

Why the mad face? Haven't you heard the phrase before?

Anyway, a good start would be some high quality randomized controlled trials with results that are easily reproducible. These are lacking unfortunately for HBOT.
