Said I'd set up a thread dedicated to America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys! :)

Not sure if there are many other Cowboys fans on this forum but the Cowboys should attract enough interest to keep a thread going.

Anyway, the Cowboys and the Giants kick off the season on Wednesday so here's hoping for a great season :D

Have to make the playoffs this year or it's another year wasted :(

As a Patriots fan, there are certain aspects of the Cowboys organisation that are easily appreciated..........

Any idea when sky sports are going to start their NFL coverage they don't have the opener or any games scheduled for Sunday?

Good idea on the Cowboys thread, been a fan since the Jeff Pearlman book!

This thread has gone a bit dead of late...

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the mighty Cowboys take on the Bears tonight and hopefully Romo & co. can produce a win and keep pace with then Eagles in the division.

However, I feel this game could be a battle of O-Lines i.e. the one which fails to keep their QB off the ground will probably lose the game. Both the Bears and Cowboys have shíte O-Lines and pretty good Defenses so this game could potentially pretty ugly and low scoring.

    Go Cowboys!! :D

Time to consider trading up for a QB in the draft I think.

Cowboys should get Kyle Orton into the team.

I know one definition of insanity. I also know it's insane to drop a guy with the stats like Romo's because of a bad game.

One bad game? Romo consistently lets his team down in big games. This was his last shot at a big season IMO. Id give him the rest of the season, then draft if/when they fail to make it to the playoffs

The Cowboys are a flawed team and poorly coached. The problem is that since Jimmy Johnson and barring 3 seasons under Parcels the Coaching staff have always been lick arses to Jerry and look like they're surprised to be coaching the great Dallas Cowboys.

There have been worse QBs to win it all than Tony Romo. Last night, I'd put 2 of those picks on him max.

Romo is not the be-all and end-all of the Dallas Cowboys. Sure the QB of a franchise takes the blame when they lose and takes the glory when they win but too much of Dallas' failings is put on Romo's shoulders. The O Line isn't worth a shít, Witten in slowing down, Bryant is too inconsistent and Murray can blow hot and cold too.

Overall, it's wrong to put all the blame on Romo. Some of it yes, but all of it, no. The Cowboys just don't have the toughness needed to be an elite team. It seems like the offense/defense aren't on the same page as coaches half the time which leads to the Cowboys being such an inconsistent team.

However, I don't think it would be crazy if the Cowboys thought about drafting a QB either in the 2013 Draft or in the next 2 years. As good a QB as Romo is, he's getting old (32) and has had a few injuries in the past and Kyle Orton is obviously not the long term solution. Drafting a QB and grooming him to be ready to be starter if/when Romo retires in a few years time would be a smart move. Better than waiting for Romo to kick it and having no viable QB ready to fill his shoes.

Any news on who will start at center against the Panthers? Is Costa likely to be fit?
