    hi,

I got a pair of Shimano size 45 and they were a bit too small so I had to send them back. They also didn't fit the pedals I got (even though I was told they would).

Well they took my pedals and shoes back and now I have the following pedals :

I need to get a matching pair of shoes (Shimano) somewhere, any ideas ?

I have that exact set of pedals and paired them with these Shimano shoes which have been fantastic so far after >1000km. They are very well ventilated so come winter time I will probably need to invest in overshoes to stay warm.

cool. The only thing is the price, £52.85 is not cheap. I was checking out http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ and they offer Shimano shoes a lot cheaper although they are usually out of stock on the most sought after shoe.

45 was a bit small for me but they are offering 1/2 sizes and the next size up is 47 or 11.5 which does seem a bit big. I don't want to have to return another set of shoes.

I see the same shoe at the same price :

Ye shoes are expensive and crc is always like that: you see the % discount but then see that it's out of stock in the size you want.:p
I have size 45 but if you say that's too small then you'll just have to go for a 47. I was already going one size up than in normal shoes (as per the advice on the review sites) and it's bang on for me.

Btw £52 is actually decent value for those shoes; I think I bought them for £60 to £70.

Yes CRC were a bit annoying, their customer care could be better too, its too long till they get back in touch with you.

O.k I think I will go for your shoe on Amazon. Yes 45 was small but I could still fit them. Looking at my shoes they are all sizes and it throws me a bit.

    They have 10.5 (45 too small) 11.5 (45.5) and 12 (46). So maybe 46..only 5 left in stock

I normally wear a 44 in normal shoes, ordered 46 extra wide by mistake from crc instead of 44 extra wide... They fit perfect. I def reckon it's 2 sizes up from normal and not the 1 size I've read elsewhere.

I always took it as one size up in terms of the UK/Ireland size which would roughly translate as two sizes up on the Euro sizing? Worked for me anyway.

90 euro lighter after I went to my local lbs on the way home, got fitted with my new specialised ones, took the stress out of online purchasing and supported the local economy. Not a bads days work. Now to practise. Someone said it before. Wax on........wax off.......wax on

good idea, but no local shops here for me to check out :)

The shoe size is terrible, clothing size on the continent is joking. I got a large jersey and it just fits but I could lose a few pounds :P

Why do they have different sizes, metric fit should be standard !

£52 is actually at the cheap end of the scale and you should get a good few years out of them as they dont wear out like regular trainers/shoes so consider it in long term use/wear and theyre actually very cheap as shoes go.

You need to remember that your feet swell slightly when they get warm from pedalling and so if 45 fits you and no more when you tried them on then theyre going to be tight when cycling. Get the 47 and wear thicker socks (a lot of cycling socks have thicker padded soles) and so you will find the shoes fit you better than you think.

buy shoes that fit, dont second guess what you feet may or may not do (if they arent comfortable in the shop they probably wont ever feel right on the bike)
also i've bought bigger shoes and could never get the cleats in the right place.

Best lesson you should of learn't from the experience was unless you are 100% sure of your size in the shoe you want to buy don't buy shoes over the internet.

yes well easier said than done. I know now that 45 is too small as I have tried them on and sent them back at a cost of €10. I am going for Shimano still my only doubt is whether a 46 will do the job or 47. 46 (size 12) are in my basket for now.

I use shimano shoes too, im a size 45 but so for my 1st pair i got a 45 it did fit but my feet kept going really numb. I bought a new pair at the start of the summer and get a 46.5 and its prefect. I think with most cycling shoes your better off going 1 size up.

you went for a 46.5 though and not 46, is .5 of a size much ?

No they fit fine.. using them for a few months, very please with them, but i dont buy shoes online for that reason!
