I know there are loads of threads on issues such as this so apologies for starting another!

I'm trying to decide what geography modules to take in 2nd year - I like and am more interested in the Human side than the Physical side of geog however it seems to be encouraged to take a balance between the two disciplines. Is this just for teaching purposes which is not something I necessarily want to do or are there other reasons?

Is it best to just go with the modules I am interested in? I haven't reached the stage yet that I am clear in what I would like to do post degree hence the confusion on what's best to do!

Lastly does anyone know what GY211 geomorphology of Ireland is like?

    Any help appreciated.

Either way you should always pick modules you're interested in, there's no point taken modules that don't interest you whatsoever.

Biogeography and Global water resources are interesting Physical modules as they incorporate Human Geography aswell. As far as I'm aware Hazards and society also incorporates Human Geography.

I think it only needs to be balanced if you plan on teaching. Then you need 15 credits of physical geography.

Im in the same position. I need to pick 3 physical geography modules between 2nd and third year. I chose Hazards and Society, Global Water Resources and Climate Change(3rd Year).

Im not really into physical geography and there are other modules that I would love to do instead but out of all of the physical modules I think I will find these most interesting. At least they're not rocks!
