I was offered a place on my chosen course in Carlow IFE and was told that i would be getting a letter about it. But it has been a week and a half and I still have no letter. Should it take this long for them all to send the letters out to the chosen students? Their computer systems were down which could be one of the reasons, that why they told me on the day of the interview that I was offered a place, but surely it should be up and running by now?

I have sent an email asking them about it, I just hope I don't come across annoying. Im just getting really worried because everybody are starting college different times in september, and I just dont want to miss out on my first day.

PLC offers are bring made this week in a lot of places. They only started to reopen last week and many were interviewing.

Ring and ask for the coordinator of the specific course, look this up on the website brochure. Ask if offers have been made yet and when registration is. Courses will typically start next week or early the week after. Dont worry about bugging them!

Thank you I rang and they are sending it out again. But I didn't know anything about registration! I thought they offered you the place and send out the letter with info like a timetable and stuff. I didn't ask about it because I rang yesterday but only saw ur answer this morning.

Like I knew you had to pay a fee but I assumed that was sometime when you start your course.

I eman if I don't pay the fee and register in time, am I kicked off the course or will I be given a chance, since I did ring the place for the letter which shows I had my hopes on Carlow IFE?

Crap I am really scared now! Damn my school for not teaching us that! :(

I can understand why you're frustrated but try not to worry.

I got a phone call this morning asking me to go for an interview tomorrow, even though I was offered a place in a different college last week and my registration day is tomorrow.

Are you sure they didn't give you an information sheet? I have one with all the information about registration, fees etc.

Thanks for your help guys. :) But what happens if you don't pay it in time? Can they kick you off the course, or because in my situation, will they give me more time before Monday (thats the day they are having something called an Induction)

I only got the letter today and the deadline is today by 4.00pm. I dont have a debit card yet, so i need my motehr to pay for me now, but she sint finished work until 4!! And then there that Garda Vetting form, which doesnt say if it is meant to be in today or not, since I ahve to first get work experiacne somewhere and also through the PAINFUL effort of going to the Garda station (I assume Vetting Unit means your local garda station?) WHICH btw in my local town are nearly always closed coz when they get called away, everybody at the station goes, I had to go in about 4 times for my age card and the 5th time the station was open so I was lucky to have caught them that time. So this is gonna be SO STRESSFUL if I have to get this form done now! :(:(

Carlow IFE has to send you a garda vetting form(they have specific ones they give out)..that had to be handed in on registration!!the best advice i can give you now is just to call them and explain everything!!if ur mom has a debit card they wud more than likely be able to that over phone!!also keep checking if u can pay online!!they cant give ur place away if u hav already accepted!!what course are u doing??

ps:induction day is really just them introducing themselves to the students, we wud probly get timetables and book lists and so on!!first time college for me to so not 100% sure!!

You dont go near the garda station for garda vetting, you fill in the form and bring it back to the college and it goes through their channels. You have no contact with the gardai for it at all.
