    Hi,

I am trying to sell my own road bike at the moment. Going to put the proceeds towards a new road bike through the bike to work scheme. They just made it available in work. I was just wondering when the new model bikes come out? What is regarded as the best bike shop in Ireland to do the bike to work scheme with?

I don't really know what kind of road bike to buy, my budget is going to be about €8-900 but I'll also want to get some good quality bike tools and some light rain gear with the bike. So more like €7 - 800 for the bike. Ill probably pick up the bike in October, would I be better off trying to get a high end 2012 model on sale or wait for the 2013 models?

I have my own cateye strada cycling computer and my own pedals so I won't need them on the new bike!

    Hope someone can advise me!

If you find somewhere selling high end 2012 road bikes for €7 - 800 please let us know, seems more like entry level budget.

if i where you id spend the entire 1000 euro limit on the actual bike, loads of places have decent bikes at that price for the bike to work scheme, worry about the other things after

There you go, prime example of my ignorance on the subject! Just looking to get the best value for the money I have to spend! I'll travel pretty much anywhere in Ireland to find a bike shop who will take care to get me the right bike rather than someone who'll fleece me! Maybe I should just spend the 8-900 on the bike and by the accessories seperately! What's the best road bike I could get for €900 ?

Thanks, as I said I have a lot of equipment already. Literally the only thing I need is a bike with any cheap crap pedals, and no need for a cycling computer on it either as I have both pedals and computer already. Which shop would you go to if you were buying a new bike?

This thread might help although it's from earlier this year so maybe prices have dropped on some of those models. The list I put together will at least let you compare specs of the different bikes.
