New 2013 Mazda6 opinions?

So what do you think? I'm disappointed that it has lost the flair of the Takeri concept but we all knew it would. The flanks and rear do nothing to move the game on and I suspect it will date quickly. At least they didn't try to take on VW's euro design and tried to do something with a bit more character. I really wanted to like this but it am not convinced, hopefully it is better in the flesh.

Ooooh she's a nice looking yoke.

Does it look a small bit like a Insigna?

Looks like an insignia crossed with a new volvo

I like it. Then again I like all generations of Mazda 6.

    I presume that's 2013 model so?

To be fair, it didn't lose much between the concept and production model design-wise!

Yep, I think they're the closest a concept has been to the end product since the Civic a few years back. Mirrors and lights were always going to change.
I think in a different colour and in the metal it'll look well.

I think it'll look deadly in black but red seems to be the launch colour for a lot of cars as it's supposed to accentuate the lines (RX8, MPS on Top Gear) etc.

The front arches on that are very RX8y.

Another comparison, profile on both is very close alright.

I love red on some cars though, the 6 MPS looks class in red, the 3 MPS not so good!
That side profile view highlights my only problem with the car. The back door in the concept with the fly-window looks better than the production one, with no fly window, which looks almost identical to the current hatchback, which is a pity, cause it reduces the new feel quite a good bit, making it look more like a refresh of the current.

I agree about the window! It does detract from it a good bit.

I'm not a fan of the red 6MPS and I think the red 3MPS always looks orange instead of red for some strange reason!

Also, see the size of the brake discs on the concept compared to production model :pac:

I really like the look of that. I'll keep an eye out for one in 6 years when it comes into my price range..

It's a nice bus, I like the current one in the 5-dr guise, not gone on that new Mazda nose though...

Ehm....it's chalk and cheese! The new one looks for like a sport version of the old one.
