Asked to send documents, does this mean i have the grant?

I haven't been able to find this information anywhere. They sent me a letter asking to send in all the required documentation on the checklist which i done the next day.

Assuming all the documents i have sent to them are fine(i know they are), does it mean i will be accepted for a grant? Or is there still a chance that they can say no?

I am doing a postgrad which is starting in 7 days and to get accepted to the course i need to pay a deposit, but i cannot afford to pay it if i am not getting the grant.

    Any help would be appreciated.

No it doesn't, I sent my documents off over a month ago and no word, it is not a guarantee of getting anything, it just means you are on the next stage of consideration

    No.
Would someone not have at least reviewed the application before requesting documents?

Yes , it means they didnt spot anything in the information you already provided that would suspect them to say your not entitiled.
However equally they may see something in the documents you send in to put their decision either way.

Ok, thank you. I know all the documentation backs up the information on the application. So unless there was human error by the first accessor then hopefully i will get it.

I still don't know what to do about the deposit for the course. It is a catch 22. I cant start the course until it is paid but i cant pay it until i know for sure i have the grant. Course starts in 7 days but i won't hear back from SUSI for 3-4 weeks.

I got a letter requesting the documents and I rang up as I had a query and I asked the same question.

The person on the phone said my application is about 70% complete when documents are requested and once the documents back up my application my grant will be awarded.

If there is a discrepancy between my application and what my documents say then there will be an issue.

Usually fees offices understand that there are grant delays and they can be flexible in allowing you to register once you show a letter saying you are waiting on a grant

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

The fees office stated to me last week that the deposit has to be paid before i can start the course and that i should try and put pressure on SUSI. But i don't think they will look at mine before other people.

It depends - Universities and ITs are very flexible - Other colleges such as Institutes of Further Education and Colleges and community schools are not. You may have to try and see if you can get a temporary loan or something

Was your income below the threshhold?

Also ring SUSI and tell them this
Also contact a local TD and tell them this and ask can they put pressure on CDVEC and/or Minister for Education to speed up process
