Usually go up on the train on the Saturday, but for the All Ireland, I'm bringing the "auld fella" with me, so going on the Sunday morning and trying to avoid too long of a walk. Don't know Dublin too well, but I pre-booked Quick Rite IFSC car park. Was this a good plan, or could I do better ?

    Thread here with some tips.

Post 12 is particularly handy and I can vouch for it myself.

Thanks m8, yep I should have posted in that thread. Feel free to move it mods.
But was wondering if the specific IFSC one that I have already booked is OK (easy to get to on the day) as if it's a pain I would probably go back to the original "Red Cow/Luas" plan ?

Good choice; other option, get up early, park on the clontarf road in the public car-park opposite the Yacht Pub and get the 130 bus down to the Annesley Bridge Dublin City Fire Station. u r a 10 minute walk up Clonliffe Road to Croker if u are on the Cusack; 20 mins if on hogan or canal end. :D

If its the one Im thinking of (on commons st?) its handy enough to get to (straight down the quays and turn at jurys) although theres free on street parking just up from it on sunday and usually isnt too busy. The Connolly station carpark is 8 euro for the day and is up the street from there as well

The Irish Life Mall Car Park access opposite VHI Lr Abbey St is only 5 Euro for a Sunday. Its about ten minute walk up Gardiner St to Croke Park.

if your dad doesnt want to walk too far then I think either IFSC or Irish Life Mall parking is out. To be honest the official car park (clonliffe) is the nearest for walking but its a nightmare to get out of after the match. Depending on where you are coming from your best bet is to park outside the city and get a bus in to dorset street. Or get bus from Maynooth that stops in Drumcondra. O'Connell school is a good close car park but will be packed out fairly quickly too.

Where you coming from? Maybe head to Maynooth get there early and park at the train station or across the road at the the glenroyal hotel(5min walk to train), the train will drop you off at drumcondra station beside croke park, plus you miss all the city traffic. And there's a train at 5:15 soon waiting around.

Maynooth without a doubt. No hassle getting there, free parking at the Glenroyal, or get there early and park at the train station. We always park in Maynooth, 5 euro return to Drumcondra station. Trains waiting after the match, if you are not in a hurry home, have a few pint last train leaves around 11.20pm
