Just upgraded to the Galaxy S III from the Nexus S.

Not liking having to go to a older version of Android and don't know if all this Samsung stuff is any use.

Anyone done the same switch and what do they think?

Is it hard to remove the Samsung crap and go the latest version of pure Android?

Stock Nexus >> stock Galaxy S3
Rooted Galaxy S3 >> rooted Nexus

And it's very easy, check out some of the stickies over on Xda!

Jellybean is on its way to the galaxy sIII soon so you'll be okay on that front.

There are plenty of roms around that will give you the vanilla android feel but I think there are some good apps around, such as the hubs, the radio and the file browser!
