the low battery alert is an intermittent chirp. this was a proper alarm condition. It says that the CO levels are 193ppm

CO alarms do not false alarm. Open windows and vent the area and preferably stay outside until you know the source area.

There is leakage from somewhere. Could be from another room or even another property.

Heavy smoking of cigarettes can also give high readings.

One instance zi am aware of is where there was smoldering on ESB cabling outside the house that worked it's way inside

Always treat CO alarm activation as serious, and at those levels evacuate the property. Open all doors and windows to ventilate the area.

Ring a local RGI and ask if they do CO room safety testing.

In general term, they don't false alarm, but alarm failure is always a possibility, you could remove the alarm to fresh air and see how it reacts, but can't stress enough if the levels are correct it is a very dangerous level of CO
