Thinking Of Switching To Sky

    Been with UPC forever :D

On the €71 Bundle with extras.

    Anytime World
    HD
    Movies & Sports in HD
    Multi Room x 2

It comes to €166.14 a month.

I saved a few quid because we always had them seperate but signed up to the bundle last month.Putting me back in contract for 12 months

Sky are now doing a deal for sky for half price for 1 year.

That would give me, the full package movies, sports, ESPN, HD and 2 multiroom boxes in HD for €60.50 a month (F**K Setanta or On demand they are both dirt)

Keep my UPC phone & Broadband @ €46 thats €107.50 saving me €58.64 a month thats €703.68 for the year.

The way things are i'd be mad not too, Whats the story with getting out of contract? Is there much hassle, and what are the fees?

    Cheers.

As far as I can remember OP I understand that UPC recently introduced a charge of €100 to close your account with them while you were still in contract. I'd chase this up with them though as you just want to drop a service, not the broadband or phone.

Hmmm just try and get away with the sneaky €10 downgrade fee! I must give them a ring.

Firstly if you are in a contract you are probabl stuck.

Secondly be aware of package difference (for example Sky's basic does not have discovery channel) and hidden extras (multiroom 15 euro per month instead of 5)

Also if you end up in another contract you may regret you should think wisely the true total costs of each system.

Once out of contract you might be better just haggling than changine provider or going for no montly fee FreeSAT Saorview setup. The moral of this thread is think before you agree to pay for 12 months. Worst case you end up paying for a service you don't use.

Id be going for the full package anyway, people have haggled the multiroom to a lower price so, but if not just on tv alone i'll still be saving about 400 a year, thanks for the info though
