The final episode in this series of For One Night Only celebrates the musical talents of the showband legend, Dickie Rock, who has spent seven decades in the music industry. He brings us on a musical journey and talks life, love, music, family, future hopes and dreams.

From The Candy Store On the Corner to Every step of the Way Dickie belts out the hits to an audience of his loyal fans. He talks about the triumphs and tragedies that have shaped his life: the death of his brother and later his son, Joseph; his other son's battle with drug addiction and the effect it had on himself and his wife, Judy; his own indiscretion that was played out in the media and how, after it all, he and Judy are still very much in love and happy.

He also reveals why he left The Miami Show band, how he ended up playing for Prince Rainier of Monaco in the Hotel de Paris and why, after everything, home is where he wants to be and where he feels happiest.

Had anyone here met Dickie Rock before? I haven't met him in my life.

Does anyone here like his music?

My mother met Dickie Rock several times, she worked at a venue that he used to play in.

She has always said that unlike some of the other showband musicians around at the time that Dickie was an absolute gentleman. I'm not a fan of Dickie's myself, I can't believe how dismissive he is of his daughter. It is hardly her fault that she was born :mad: Having said that I think the guy can sing.

Very interesting indeed... I didn't know anything about his 'indiscretion' until I watched the programme last night. To tell the truth I actually knew very little about him other than he used to be a sort of Irish Elvis. Seems like a very nice guy but I was dissapointed that Gay didn't ask more about the indiscretion. It was kind of pushed aside straight away whereas I wanted to know more about the effects it had on the marriage that they said has lasted so long thus far.

Ah seriously, Im not a fan but you'd really hope that he shows up safe and well. Despite everything, we're talking about a senior citizen here so let's hope that the guy hasn't found himself in any difficulty.

Yes Liz, Richard Rock was part of the original Boyzone line-up. He appeared on the LLS in 1994 with the band.
