    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a hotel for Saturday 22nd September. Looked at a few already, Jurys, Skylon, Harcourt, Clarion and these are booked out.
    .
Anyone any other ideas where to look? For 2 sharing.

    Cheers

Red Cow - you can get the luas into town for the game, stayed there and it was lovely, would recommend it

Ibis hotel we mostly stay there, it's cheap and 5mins walk to the red cow luas....or stay in. Maynooth At the glenroyal hotel and get the train from there to drumcondra and you miss all the city traffic, stayed there last year and plenty of bars in the town also good Craic round.

Maybe try some of the near Airport hotels - the Hilton in Coolock does a good room rate. Or the Bewleys at the end of the M50 near airport. If you want to hang around Drumcondra after the game there would prob be a good night link service to there or taxi shouldn;'t be too bad. Get on some of the web booking sites and you will see options.

Some hostels do private double rooms for great rates - might be worth a try for City Centre options.

I stayed in the academy hotel in 2010 when Cork reached final. Not sure if hotel would be booked out or if hotel is still there. :D

Thanks for all your suggestions. Decided to go for Crowne Plaza Northwood and booked the Sunday night also. It was €86 for the Saturday night and €77 for the Sunday night so don't think it is expensive. Probably a bit out of the way but I would imagine only a few taxi runs into the City or a bus maybe. I wanted to book now as I fear prices will only go up after tomorrow's game.

Always stay at Bewleys airport... Had the car parked there for the few weeks away on holiday and flew back in late last Sunday night, could not believe the amount of celebrating Donegal fans still up, some I knew(shouldnt have been surprised they were still up:D), some i didnt.... short drive to good parking spots around croker, bus should be handy from here to drumcondra as well...
If Mayo win tomorrow, which is unlikely, but hotels will be all sold out in no time if Mayo make it..

The Regency in Whitehall is only a 5 minute walk from the Skylon.

Academy Hotel, Findlater Place. Very central.

I stayed at the Maldron CityWest before last years All-Ireland, €50/night drove up late the night before and just wanted a place to sleep really without going inside the M50. If you do stay there make sure you get a room at the back of the hotel as the traffic noise is unrelenting from the Motorway outside.

Uppercross in Rathmines is handy it would probably be €90 a night.

Northwood is only a few miles from Croker and on a few direct bus route to Drumcondra. Enjoy:D

Hi where are you travelling from? Whenever we go to Croker we stay in the GlenRoyal in Maynooth. Very good value, free parking. It ideal as train station is a 5 min walk and brings you straight into Drumcondra.

I really don't get why people are suggesting the likes of the Red Cow, Citywest or Maynooth. If you're going to stay the night, why wouldn't you want to stay somewhere relatively close to Croke Park? Surely you want to go somewhere nearby after the game for a few pints and to enjoy the post match atmosphere rather than having to face into an hour plus journey back to your hotel.

Maynooth is a great choice, you don,t have to rush off after the game. It only takes 30mins to get back by train, and you can enjoy a few pints up to 11.30 when last train leaves. So don't be so quick to knock other people's choices. The luas goes all the way out to the Red Cow from O' Connell St. So who's rushing off, what works for others may not work for you but please let everyones opinion and experience be heard. I would't stay anywhere else we get the best of both worlds, we enjoy a lovely night and great craic in Maynooth and then a great day and nigh in Dublin. The Glentoyal is such great value you can afford to stay two night, that cannot be said for Dublin.

just for the craic I did a search on whats available and this is one of the few hotels that came up with availability at an affordable (i.e. sub 100 euro) price.

I'll be kippin on various floors for the weekend myself so thats my solution to getting accomodation on one of the busiest weekends in Dublin!
