    HEY.

Anyone else apply or get an interview with BT ever?

I don't know about anyone else but they have given me the run around?
I gave a great interview recently about three weeks ago. It was for a sales consultant position and I have ALOT of experience in this area.
    Have heard nothing since?

I had an interview too last year which went very well (one which I had to travel all the way to Dublin for only to not even get an acknowledgement afterwards? The travel expenses were meant to be refunded to me which I never received also).
Recently, I was called and texted by a manager of a concession who wanted me for an interview and cancelled on me. I left my number with her staff to ring me back to reorganise ,yet, nothing.

Feel I am being deemed not good enough on all three accounts with no reason ? For bloody PART TIME SALES CONSULTANT POSITIONS I COULD DO IN MY SLEEP? (/rant :o )

What the hell is with BT? It's a shop at the end of the day!

Anyone have similar experience's with them?

    Bit unfair really!
    Thanks!

you should write a letter or email and ask for feedback on your interview? you have already admitted here that the job is too easy and maybe that came across in the interview that you wouldnt be motivated enough etc

Yeah I'd have hired you with that attitude - so I could fire you the next week for giggles. Some people make a career in retail and there are no end of people looking for entry level jobs at the moment.

Sorry I didn't mean THAT about retail. I meant I have always worked as a sales consultant...? Should of been clearer.

Fair enough - I would say there is a element of this ig going to be too easy coming across in the interview as already as been said. Its one thing to be qualified and experienced in a job its another to be at the point that it's an obvious stop gap measure.

One way around it it to be completely honest and up front and hope that swings the interviewer. There will normally be a point in an interview where you get to talk about your five year plan / where do you see yourself in five years and you can, if you've done your research on the company, get in how you know they promote from within - you've always wanted to work for this company - will be running it someday spiel.

I was taken on as a trainee manager for a company after having done 'an excellent interview' and 'eliminating any doubts'. I was gone inside 4 months - I hated the job and the line manger felt threatened as I'd been managing much higher turn over stores than she - albeit in a different product area.

What ever happens good luck just make sure you are very careful how you come across. There is a very fine line between confidence and arrogance.

I see what you're saying. :) I have plenty of experience for the positions I was been interviewed for. I guess what I meant by BT is that it seems to be very hard to get into despite the experience.

    Thanks for the advice. :)

Perhaps she was interviewing people before your interview and ended up finding someone more suitable? I know it's a pain but in this day and age the amount of people applying to jobs. I got an interview and the guy told me straight out that if I didn't get it then I wouldn't hear from him, he took down the job ad within 2 hours due to over 200 applications!
