Is this a coalition or possibly a new party?

If it's a new party they could call it the Vatman and Her.

    Never hoitus.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

She's married, he's separated. Heard he'd been clapped after parking in her slot at Dublin Airport.

Listening to the Hook show, there seems to be some row going on about money among the socialists.

    http://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=clare%20daly%20mick%20wallace%20money%20row&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CCAQqQIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.herald.ie%2Fnews%2Fdaly-demands-slice-of-socialists-cash-as-she-starts-as-independent-3217514.html&ei=LGpGUJb9EMbLhAe7i4GYBA&usg=AFQjCNF0jFylHNrqC_rM9ZgfSeqhlTfwNQ
THEY have been dubbed the 'Champagne Socialists' -- and it appears that the row between Clare Daly and Joe Higgins has switched from 'Mick Wallace' to 'money'.

The bizarre rift between the pair deepened today after Mr Higgins ruled out the prospect of handing over thousands of euro in allowances to his former party colleague.

Ms Daly is attempting to secure a portion of the €143,000 allowances pot due to be paid to the Socialist Party after her shock resignation on Friday.

    Socialists for yeah:rolleyes:

Who elects these people and why.

The Sociliast Party is entitled to a government grant for every TD they had immediately after the election. Clare Daly has worked out that her being in the party was worth €70,000 in grants and wants the Socialist Party to give this to her. The SP meanwhile are, rightly in my opinion, saying that it's not something she's entitled to and that they will return those funds to the Exchequer.

She's truly taking the piss thinking she can claim party funds. She put herself in the position she's now in, it wasn't done to her. Time to cop on a bit.

I often wonder about the groups that call themselves socialist in Ireland. Most of them grew up with a Silver spoon in their mouth. They get into politics for recreation. If they lose the seat sure they get a cushy Job. Socialist TD who got a handy MEP Job after his toying around with the socialism experiment comes to mind. Even he was from the Business Class.
If you want to see Socialism in action go see the Brother up at Merchants Quay who feeds the needy. or the Salvation Army or the Samaritans...etc True Christian Charity [ meant not in a Religion sense but in the aspirations we associate with a good Christian].
Socialist parties spend most of their energy on issues affecting tiny minorities. Obviously the needs of minorities should be met but don't forget the Majority issues [ which affect all from Minorities too].
I do find myself in agreement with many so called socialists but generally they latch on to the issue not for the reason I would but purely to advance their own Communist ideals. [ another failed experiment].
