Firstly what channels do you expect? Saorview only carries the main Irish channels(RTE, TV3) and a couple extra.

With a once off payment and a satellite dish you can also get BBC and dozens of extra free channels for free every month. There are at leat 20 channels worth watching and dozens more rubbush ones.

If an indoor aerial is currently working for TG4 then this should be OK to pick up Saorview.

The TV you linked to will pick up the Irish stations but not the UK ones.

thanks, yes all i want is what comes from saorview. The TV may be linked to UPC or a dish at some point in the future, but for now i just want the standard Irish digital channels.
My question was does this TV have the Saorview box built into it.

    Thanks

You can check the make/model of any box or TV to see if it is Saorview approved here:

+1 Did you read the features list? If they claim that it's Saorview compatible then you can always bring it back if it doesn't work.
