The official answer is it must be disposed of via a licensed waste centre that is licensed to take contaminated waste.

The question is because I contacted
My local authority and they said they didn't know and to try the local recycling centre they told me the same so just wondering what the official line is

I normally take it to my local refuse centre. They charge me €10. It then gets collected from there by a specialist firm for disposal. All wate from that centre gets collected and brought to the Big Smoke anyhow!

If it is in good condition you should throw it up on donedeal, people are mad for oil tanks
