A&E Network presents “Coma,” a four-hour epic two-night event from Ridley and Tony Scott featuring a multiple Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning cast with Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”), Steven Pasquale (“Rescue Me”), Geena Davis, James Woods, Ellen Burstyn and Richard Dreyfuss. “Coma,” a modern day retelling of the bestselling novel by Robin Cook and based on the film by Michael Crichton, premieres on Labor Day, Monday, September 3 and concludes on Tuesday, September 4, airing at 9PM ET/PT on both nights.

“Coma” also stars James Rebhorn (“Law & Order,” “White Collar”), Joe Morton (“The Good Wife”), Michael Weston (“House”) and Joseph Mazello (“The Pacific,” “The Social Network”). Emmy Award winner Mikael Salomon (“Band of Brothers”) directs the John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan) penned script.

From the team behind A&E’s Emmy-nominated miniseries “The Andromeda Strain,” and the hit drama series “The Good Wife,” “Coma” is a thriller about a young doctor (Lauren Ambrose) who discovers that something sinister is going on in her hospital after routine procedures send more than a few seemingly healthy patients into comas on the operating table.

“Coma” is produced by Sony Pictures Television for A&E Network. Executive producers are Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, David W. Zucker, Martin Erlichman and Mikael Salomon.

Looks good. Loved the original though so it has a lot to live up to.

Yep, the original was on RTE on Sunday night. I Sky+ed it and hope to watch at the weekend.

Starts this week. Trailer doesn't inspire me, but the pedigree of the team behind it does....

Reviews seem to indicate that it's a bit of a mess with the second part being then more problematic of the two.

I'll be watching it anyway though.

Watching part two now. Nowhere near ad good as my memory of the original but watchable nonetheless.

Anyone else notice the dedication to the memory of Tony Scott at the start and a minute later "A Scott Free Production " :D

    Hello all

Anyone seen this? Just 2 episodes aired so far......just wondering if any of you have taken an interest?

There are only 2 episodes - it was aired on consecutive nights on Labour Day weekend. It's a remake of a 70s movie with Michael Douglas.

    Is it worth watching?

It's not worth going out of your way to see but if you have a few hours free and nothing better (Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchry, etc) to catch up on then it's a decent way to kill an evening.
