Car Alarm Goes off 5 mins After Arming it

I'm being driven to madness by my car alarm and I'm hoping for a quick fix before having to bring it to a garage where I'll be relieved of some mula.

Its a 05 Mitsubishi Colt with a MED alarm fitted. After arming the alarm, without fail within 5 minutes of the alarm being armed it goes off. All doors and windows are closed and I've no idea what can be triggering it. I don't appear to have the manual for the alarm.

I've checked the battery and it seems to have a decent charge in it.

    Any suggestions?

    Could be the sensors.
Disconnect the cables to the bonnet and boot sensors and try.
Then work your way around the other sensors.

Got under the hood yesterday and pulled every wire relating to to alarm out. The control moduel was under the front passenger dash and unplugged everything from that. I serched for the 2 lithium batteries that are supposedly there but couldn't for the life of me find them. End result when I reconnected everything it has miraculously started working as normal. I'm just glad I didn't have to start changing sensors.

TOUCH WOOD, ALL IS ALRIGHT AGAIN
