I'm not anti-Semitic but today Ryanair booking service shocked me asking to type in Hebrew to prove I'm not a robot.

hilarious  I got this before in captcha.

Next you'll be complaining about upsidedown captchas. FYI it's not worth a screenshot.

Captcha is the bane of my life when checking flights with Ryanair.

I work in web design and was asked recently to add captcha to the website I support, I had argue that extra security provided didn't outweigh the amount of abuse & hate mail I would receive from the users!

In the end I won, F U Captchas.

I'm betting your browser language was accidentally set to Israel instead of Ireland or something.

By default Firefox sets the language to either English US or English UK meaning that certain websites like Ryanair.com will default to country in the browser language instead of filtering by IP address.

Before changing my browser language ryanair.com always would load with the deals from the UK etc as ryanair.com/gb instead of ryanair.com/ie

Go to Firefox, > Options, > Content, > Languages, > Choose, and then remove the old language if it does not say English Ireland and add English Ireland and set it and then in future websites like Ryanair will know you are in Ireland and localise their website for you.

Or just click that little refresh button and get a new captcha. Not rocket science.

    It's a little-known thing.

When you see a word that you can recognise and a piece of garbled nonsense that you can't, then the garbled nonsense is just that. Type some random letters for the garbled one, type the readable one in correctly and it'll let you through.

Jesus. I'd hate to be stuck next to you on a flight to Australia.

    ...
No Israel, no Hebrew, no Yiddish no "or something" and no Firefox first of all.

I thought that was funny, presumably the OP thought so too. Those capcha things very often will accept one right and one wild guess.

I tried to book a flight with them last week but no way could I read the words (or letters),

I tried multiple times but just could not make it out, I then tried the audio but could not understand it,

I ended up going with aer lingus , not much difference in the price also.

Oooohhh, yeah. I remember this thing made me crazy while I was trying to book some cheap tickets for me and my parents. The weekend in Barcelona seemed like a very bad joke to me at that moment. I hate this captcha. It sometimes came out in Chinese or Korean or Russian... Refresh button will help you. Or fly with other airlines, who don't have captcha on their homepage.
