Anyone know a good American sports bar in san francisco. Lived in Chicago and have found it hard to find some really good bars here. Thinking nice platters, beer buckets and big screens! Near a muni line if possible as we are in the sunset.

    Thanks

The Taco Shop on Irving St just off 19th St (outer sunset) is good for sports and food (mexican). There are a few along Irving St as far as 8th ave that are close to MUNI line etc (inner sunset)

Lefty O'Douls near Union Sq in the downtown is also decent but a bit of a tourist trap

Thanks Urban 80. Heard lots about the Taco shop so must definitely try there. Dont want to have to travel down town all the time but anywhere near a muni line is ideal.

Forgot about Leftys- We had breakfast there once and it was decent.

    Thanks!

No worries...the Kezar is good too...right at the main entrance to Golden Gate Park, at the very top of Haight St. Good for showing Irish sports also. Irish bars like Danny Coyles and Martin Macks on Haight St have decent food/sports TV's but a bit pricey for a pint!

Favorite of mine is Nickies in Lower Haight...good for sports and does a mean bacon and cabbage on a Wednesday!

To get there from Sunset you would probably need to bus it though (#79 I think)
