Hi, I am a commercial aircraft expert. One hobby I enjoy is logging aircraft registrations. I have a complete portfolio of flights with the entire Aer Lingus and Aer Arann. These accomplishments have brought me great pride and joy.

My current project is to do the same with "The other Irish one". Nearly there, 2 aircraft to go, EI-CKP and EI-COB. I rang yesterday to book a flight on Charlie Kilo Papa for 2 around 2 months time. I suggested that given the advance notice it should be possible for them to position the aircraft to do the flight I want. They refused, and acted like I was being unreasonable. I conceded and asked what routes these aircraft would be on and to my surprise they denied to tell me which flight I should book. I objected and it ended with a supervisor telling me to hang up!

Any other loggers fave this sort of hostility with this airline.

I would imagine that there isn't a hope in hell that FR would ever position a specific craft for someone, no matter how much notice.

As goes telling you what flights it will operate - seeing as the airline in question operate craft across all of Europe with limited MX bases, they probably don't know more than a few days in advance - if even. A customer care drone will absolutely not have a clue about this.

I would guess they have no idea what aircraft will be flying what route that far out. I also really don't think there going to schedule aircraft to suit you. I might be wrong but I'd be very surprised.

Well if they change them so often why would it be a problem to position an aircraft?

    EI-CKP and EI-COB

I'm open to correction here but aren't they 737-200's and no longer in service?

I hope you told them you were an expert. That would have changed everything.

I suggest calling Marty McFly at the customer services department. He will have no problem transporting you back to 2005 to help you complete another fantastic "accomplishment".

What a really cool project. EI-CKP is currently being used as Ryanair for testing new weight saving measures to save fuel.

No, it's a full time voluntary calling. Couldn't think of anything else I would like to do with my life to be honest!

Must be why you went down the Commercial Aircraft Expert career path...........can I ask where you studied to get into that side of aviation?

After 16 years working in the industry I'm examining my options for professional development going forward.
